Welcome to Small Talk Connect
Small Talk is a newsletter meant to bridge industries, offering insights, expert interviews, trends, and networking for hospitality, tech, healthcare, real estate, media & beyond.

At Small Talk Connect, we're always exploring creative ways to make networking fun and impactful. In our recent events, Connect 4 has been a key feature—not just as a game, but as a vehicle for meaningful conversation and speed networking. Why Connect 4, you ask? Simple. The game provides a common ground, breaks down barriers, and allows participants to engage in friendly competition, making the initial interaction relaxed and natural. It’s the perfect setup for genuine conversations to flourish. We’re all about making meaningful connections without the pressure that often comes with traditional networking.
Shoutout to Our Inaugural Competition Winner: Brittany Lewis
A huge congratulations to Brittany Lewis, our winner from the first Connect 4 tournament! 🎉 Brittany is a talented portrait photographer who excels in bringing her clients' visions to life. She also provides free CRM integration advice, adding incredible value to those she works with. Brittany’s dedication to listening to her clients and helping them achieve their goals is exactly the kind of spirit we love to see at Small Talk Connect. If you're looking for a portrait photographer who really gets you, Brittany is the one! Check out her post game interview below!
Vision and Purpose Small Talk Connect as a platform is designed to direct readers towards a platform for learning and networking. Over the years, I have honed a skill that has been instrumental in merging content creation with community engagement, addressing tight community pitfalls such as the lack of overlap opportunities. For example, if you’re a bartender or real estate agent and you only spend your time talking and hanging out with bartenders and real estate agents, then you might find yourself more limited in opportunities in comparison to someone who is putting themselves in front of diverse groups of people.
By integrating this platform with a media collabs while tying it into real-world events and issues, Small Talk will be able to offer a comprehensive and efficient approach to professional growth and networking.
Next Up: Small Talk Connect + Toy Drive
We're thrilled to announce our next event on December 18th at FAO Midtown! This time, we’re pairing our networking games with a toy drive. Here’s what to expect:
Free entry and a complimentary drink if you arrive before 8 PM.
Bring a toy for donation, and you’ll receive another free drink! 🍹
Experience free arcade gameplay and join in our signature Connect 4 networking tournament.
It’s all about connecting, contributing to a good cause, and having a great time. Don't miss out!
Community Highlight: Kahlil, Founder of Kahlab Media & Kahlab Social
Our highlighted community member for December is Kahlil, the creative mind behind Kahlab Media and Kahlab Social—a coworking and creative space. Kahlil is passionate about using his space to foster collaboration, supporting the next wave of remote workers and creatives who are looking for more than just a desk—they’re looking for a community. With technology enabling more collaboration than ever before, Kahlil’s vision is all about the future of business partnerships and building spaces that encourage these new opportunities to thrive.
We’re proud to have Kahlil as part of our community, and we can't wait to showcase how Kahlab Social is contributing to the growth of Houston’s creative and entrepreneurial landscape.
